Design with Purpose

At Hipas AS, we design and renovate interiors with the conviction that a space should work as hard as the people who use it. Our practice is rooted in the Scandinavian tradition — quiet materials, honest construction, and environments that feel calm because every element earns its place.

We work primarily within hospitality and workplace design — from hotels that must feel personal to hundreds of different guests, to restaurants and offices where atmosphere, flow and function are inseparable. The discipline of these settings informs our approach: spaces must perform seamlessly while offering a clear and lasting identity.

Renovation is where most of our work begins. We are brought in when a space no longer supports its purpose — a hotel that no longer reflects its brand, a restaurant that has lost its relevance, or a workplace that no longer works for the people in it. Our first task is to understand the building: its structure, its light, and the way people already move through it.

From there, we strip back what doesn’t belong and rebuild around what does — shaping environments that are intuitive to use, grounded in durable materials, and designed to age with integrity. Every decision is considered, and every detail is resolved so the space communicates clearly without needing explanation.
